Cooking for a Cause

On Monday April 16, 2012 Lucia’s Tavola hosted a special fundraising dinner for New Hampshire Food Bank. The evening included a five-course menu prepared by Lucia’s executive chef and owner, Mark diCiccio, and head chef, Michelle Lugo. Not only did this successful event help raise money for the NH Food Bank, but it also shed light on all of the other great things the organization has done in our community. All of proceeds were donated to support the NH Food Bank.

To kick off this event, a week of fundraising at Southern New Hampshire University (April 9th – 13th) was also in order. I created a flash mob that had featured SNHU and Recipe for Success students to raise awareness and encourage students to donate from their meal cards that same week. As students paraded into the cafeteria, mobbers popped balloons which then had revealed facts about hunger in little notes! This was such a very fun and successful event!

Check out the video from the flash mob:

Here are some great pictures from the successful evening at Lucia’s Tavola.

Special THANK YOU to all of the supporters, Lucia’s Tavola and NH Food Bank!
